Description

A delicious homemade copycat version of the famous Arby’s Beef & Cheddar sandwich. This recipe features piles of thinly sliced roast beef on a toasted onion roll, topped with melted cheddar cheese and a zesty, creamy horseradish sauce. It’s a quick and satisfying meal that brings the fast-food favorite right to your kitchen in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 onion rolls
  • 1/2 cup Arby’s Sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven broiler.
  2. Split the onion rolls and place them under the broiler until lightly toasted.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to create the horseradish sauce.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches by layering thinly sliced roast beef on the toasted onion rolls.
  5. Top each sandwich with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  6. Place the assembled sandwiches back under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Drizzle Arby’s Sauce over the melted cheese.
  8. Spread the prepared horseradish sauce on the top half of each roll.
  9. Close the sandwiches and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a true copycat experience, warm the roast beef in a skillet with a little water or beef broth before assembling to mimic the steamed texture.
  • If you can’t find onion rolls, sesame seed buns with dried onion flakes sprinkled on top work as a substitute.
  • The recipe relies on store-bought Arby’s sauce, but homemade barbecue sauce mixed with a little ketchup and garlic powder can be a quick substitute.
