Baked Chicken Breast

  • Author: Jessica

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: Fresh parsley or lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Place the chicken on the prepared baking dish.

Step 3: Season the Chicken
  1. Drizzle the chicken breasts with olive oil, rubbing it evenly on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.

Step 4: Bake the Chicken
  1. Place the chicken in the preheated oven.
  2. Bake for 22-26 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken breasts, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Use an instant-read thermometer for accuracy.

Step 5: Rest and Serve
  1. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges before serving, if desired.
