Mississippi Sin Quiche Recipe

  • Author: Jessica

Description

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1/2 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or chives, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Ingredients

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust and press it into a quiche dish or shallow pie plate. Trim any excess dough and prick the bottom with a fork. Pre-bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook the Fillings: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion and garlic until softened and fragrant (about 3 minutes). Remove from heat.
  3. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cheddar cheese, Gruyère cheese, cream cheese, cooked ham, sausage, and the sautéed onion and garlic. Mix until well combined.
  4. Assemble the Quiche: Pour the filling mixture into the pre-baked crust. Spread it evenly and sprinkle with fresh thyme or chives.
  5. Bake the Quiche: Place the quiche on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the quiche cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a side salad or fresh fruit for a complete breakfast or brunch.
