Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar (for coating)
- Optional: festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese using a hand or stand mixer until smooth and fluffy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until fully incorporated and creamy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Scoop out 1-inch portions of dough using a cookie scoop or spoon. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft and gooey.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Optional: Decorate with festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes while still warm.
