Easy Garlic Shrimp Gratin Recipe – A Creamy Seafood Delight

  • Author: Jessica

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup (25g) breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and are slightly undercooked. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and arrange them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Dijon mustard. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Pour the creamy sauce over the shrimp in the baking dish. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs evenly over the top. Dust with paprika for color and flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with crusty bread, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.
