- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 cup dark chocolate chunks (at least 70% cocoa)
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/4 cup peanut butter, toffee bits, or chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, then beat until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined—avoid overmixing.
- Stir in the chocolate chunks and chips of all types. Optionally, add peanut butter, toffee bits, or chopped pecans for extra flavor.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
