  • Author: Jessica

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/4 cup peanut butter, toffee bits, or chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then beat until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined—avoid overmixing.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chunks and chips of all types. Optionally, add peanut butter, toffee bits, or chopped pecans for extra flavor.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
