For the Cookie Dough:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 2 cups high-quality white chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or dried cranberries
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
2. Combine the Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cookies tender.
- Fold in the white chocolate chips and any optional add-ins like peppermint candies or cranberries.
3. Shape and Bake:
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
