Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine preferred)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
- Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes for spice
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the heavy cream. Stir over medium heat, allowing it to simmer and thicken for 3-4 minutes.
- Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and combined. Adjust with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Shrimp and Pasta:
- Return the shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Stir gently to coat the shrimp in the creamy mixture.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to ensure everything is evenly mixed and coated with sauce.
- Serve:
- Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a spicy kick, if desired. Serve immediately.
