For the Filling:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • Zest of 2 oranges

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Rolls:
    • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to a ¼-inch thickness.
    • Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with sugar and orange zest.
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 1-inch pieces.
    • Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for 30-45 minutes.
  3. Bake the Rolls:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Make the Glaze:
    • In a bowl, mix the softened butter and sour cream until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, whisking until creamy. Stir in the fresh orange juice.
  5. Glaze the Rolls:
    • While the rolls are still warm, drizzle the glaze generously over the top. Serve and enjoy!
