Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh, ripe strawberries (choose uniform sizes)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Mini chocolate chips or sprinkles (for eyes and buttons)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries:
- Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Using a sharp knife, slice off the green tops of the strawberries to create a flat base. Then, cut off the pointed top of each strawberry to form Santa’s “hat.”
- Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
- Assemble the Santas:
- Place a small dollop of the cream cheese filling on the flat base of each strawberry, creating the “beard.”
- Replace the pointed top of the strawberry on the cream cheese filling to form Santa’s “hat.”
- Use the remaining filling to pipe a small dot at the tip of the “hat” and another small dot for Santa’s “button.”
- Add the Finishing Touches:
- Press mini chocolate chips or sprinkles into the cream cheese filling to create Santa’s eyes.
- Arrange the completed Strawberry Santas on a festive platter or tray.
Notes
Tips for Success
- Choose the Best Strawberries: Look for ripe, plump strawberries that are similar in size for a uniform and visually appealing display.
- Room Temperature Cream Cheese: Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make the filling smooth and easy to pipe.
- Chill Before Serving: Place the assembled Strawberry Santas in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to firm up the filling.
