- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (like peas and carrots)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
- Lightly grease a baking dish and press the meat mixture into an even layer.
- Spread diced bell peppers and mixed vegetables over the meat layer.
- Top generously with shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
