Easy Caprese Dip: A Tasty Party Favorite

  • Author: Jessica

Ingredients

  • Fresh Mozzarella: 8 oz (whole milk mozzarella recommended)
  • Tomatoes: 1 pint (cherry or heirloom for the best flavor)
  • Basil: 1/4 cup (fresh leaves, torn)
  • Olive Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Balsamic Glaze: 2 tbsp
  • Salt and Black Pepper: To taste

Instructions

1. Preparing the Ingredients:

  • Slice the fresh mozzarella into thin rounds.
  • Chop the tomatoes into small pieces, releasing their natural juices.
  • Tear the basil leaves into small pieces to preserve their vibrant flavor and appearance.

2. Mixing the Dip:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced mozzarella, chopped tomatoes, and torn basil leaves.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and gently toss to blend the ingredients without bruising the basil.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

3. Adding the Final Touches:

  • Transfer the mixture to a serving dish or platter.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze evenly over the top for a sweet and tangy finish.

4. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Pair with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
  • Serve immediately and watch it disappear!

How to Make Balsamic Glaze (Optional):

Enhance the dip by making your own balsamic glaze:

  1. Add 1 cup balsamic vinegar to a small saucepan.
  2. Simmer over medium heat for 20–25 minutes until it reduces to a thick, syrupy consistency.
  3. Let it cool before drizzling over the dip.
