- 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and chopped
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (or honey as a substitute)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the cold butter cubes to the mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form an even crust.
- Evenly distribute the chopped strawberries over the crust layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top of the strawberries, covering them evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling slightly.
- Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
