Instructions
1. Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Cook until no longer pink.
2. Egg Mixture:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
3. Combine Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, and cubed bread.
- Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and bread mixture. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
4. Assemble the Casserole:
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Let the casserole sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the egg mixture.
Baking:
- Cover the casserole with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
