Description

This recipe, “Dunkaroo Cupcakes,” is a playful and nostalgic treat inspired by the beloved 90s snack, Dunkaroos, which consisted of cookies and a sweet frosting for dipping

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 box Funfetti cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • â…“ cup white chocolate, melted
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup sprinkles, plus more for garnish
  • ½ cup Birthday Cake Teddy Grahams

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two 12-cup muffin tins with cupcake liners.

  2. Make Cupcakes: Prepare the Funfetti cake mix according to the package instructions, adding the cinnamon to the batter.

  3. Fill Muffin Tins: Fill the cupcake liners about ¾ full with batter.

  4. Bake: Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, 24 to 26 minutes.

  5. Cool: Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool completely in the muffin tins.

  6. Make Frosting: While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting. In a large bowl using a hand mixer, whip the softened butter until fluffy.

  7. Add Remaining Ingredients: Gradually add the powdered sugar, melted white chocolate, milk, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing until smooth and creamy.

  8. Fold in Sprinkles: Gently fold in the sprinkles.

  9. Frost Cupcakes: Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost each cupcake, leaving a small dome at the top.

  10. Garnish: Top with more sprinkles and Teddy Grahams.
