Ingredients
-
1½ pounds cod fillets, cut into smaller pieces
-
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
-
¼ teaspoon onion powder
-
¾ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
-
½ lemon, juiced
-
Fresh parsley, chopped
-
Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly blended.
Season the cod pieces thoroughly with the seasoning mixture, making sure all sides are well coated.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Let the butter melt and start to bubble slightly.
Add the seasoned cod pieces to the skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes without moving them, allowing a light crust to form.
Carefully lower the heat, then gently flip the cod pieces using a spatula. Add the remaining butter to the skillet.
Continue cooking the cod for another 3–4 minutes, basting occasionally with the melted butter. Keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking and breaking the fillets apart.
Once the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, drizzle the skillet with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and add lemon slices around the fish for a beautiful presentation. Serve immediately.
