Description
This Quick and Easy Shrimp Scampi recipe is buttery, garlicky, and ready in just 15 minutes. Perfect for a speedy weeknight dinner or an elegant meal to impress, all with simple ingredients!
Ingredients
For the Shrimp Scampi:
-
1 pound uncooked extra-large shrimp (26–30 count per pound), thawed and peeled, tails optional
-
½ cup butter, divided
-
6 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
¼ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prep your shrimp by thawing them under cool water if frozen and patting them dry. Devein them if necessary for the best presentation and texture.
Melt half the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until foamy and fragrant.
Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 1 minute per side until they start to turn pink. I like to use tongs for quick and easy flipping.
Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, letting them cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the white wine and let it bubble away for about 2 minutes, reducing slightly to concentrate the flavor.
Add the remaining butter, the lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Stir everything together until the butter melts and the sauce is glossy and smooth.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste, remove from heat, and serve immediately.
