Description

A rich and creamy ‘Brownie Batter Dip’ that satisfies chocolate cravings without turning on the oven. This no-bake dessert dip combines softened cream cheese, Cool Whip, and dry brownie mix into a fluffy, indulgent treat. Studded with mini chocolate chips, it pairs perfectly with graham crackers, pretzels, and fresh fruit for a party-favorite appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 1 (18 oz) box brownie mix, dry
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips, divided
  • For Dipping:
  • Graham crackers
  • Pretzels
  • Fresh strawberries, apple slices, or bananas

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a large bowl. Using a handheld mixer, beat on medium speed until it is completely smooth, creamy, and free of lumps.
  2. Add the Cool Whip to the bowl and mix until it is smooth and well combined with the cream cheese. The mixture should look light and fluffy.
  3. Add the entire box of dry brownie mix and the milk. Mix everything together until smooth and completely combined.
  4. Fold in most of the mini chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for garnish.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
  6. Arrange graham crackers, pretzels, and fruit around the bowl for dipping.
  7. If making ahead, cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 1 day. Stir briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Food Safety Tip: To eliminate any risk from raw flour in the brownie mix, you can heat-treat the dry mix. Spread the powder on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes, then let it cool completely before using.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to room temperature to avoid white lumps in the dark dip.
  • If the dip is too thick for your liking, add more milk one teaspoon at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
