Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine preferred)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
  • Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes for spice

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
    • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  3. Make the Creamy Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add the heavy cream. Stir over medium heat, allowing it to simmer and thicken for 3-4 minutes.
    • Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and combined. Adjust with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine Shrimp and Pasta:
    • Return the shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Stir gently to coat the shrimp in the creamy mixture.
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to ensure everything is evenly mixed and coated with sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a spicy kick, if desired. Serve immediately.
