Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes (about 68 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional seasonings: 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes:
    • Wash the potatoes thoroughly under cool water, scrubbing away any dirt.
    • Dry them completely using a towel or paper towels.
  2. Pierce the skins:
    • Use a fork or knife to prick the potatoes several times on all sides. This prevents them from bursting while cooking.
  3. Season the potatoes:
    • Rub the potatoes with olive oil, ensuring an even coating.
    • Sprinkle them with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic powder or paprika.
  4. Preheat and cook:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
    • Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch.
    • Cook for 35-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Adjust the time based on potato size (see guide below).
  5. Check doneness:
    • Insert a fork or knife into the potato to check if it’s tender. The skin should be crispy, and the inside should feel soft and fluffy.
