Description
These M&M Cookie Bars are thick, chewy, and packed with colorful M&M candies and chocolate chips. Perfect for parties, bake sales, or a sweet family treat, they come together easily in one pan without the need for individual cookie scooping.

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ⅓ cup M&M candies, divided
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175℃). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer (or using a hand mixer), cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
- With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of M&M candies and the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and press it down gently.
- Sprinkle the remaining ⅓ cup of M&M candies over the top.
- Bake for 22–30 minutes, or until the top is golden, the edges are lightly browned, and the center is just set.
- Remove from the oven and place the pan on a cooling rack. Let the bars cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Do not overbake to ensure chewy cookie bars.
- You can substitute with peanut butter M&M’s or other flavored varieties.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For easier cutting, refrigerate the bars for 30 minutes before slicing.
- Great for freezing—wrap tightly and store for up to 2 months.
