Description

These M&M Cookie Bars are thick, chewy, and packed with colorful M&M candies and chocolate chips. Perfect for parties, bake sales, or a sweet family treat, they come together easily in one pan without the need for individual cookie scooping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ⅓ cup M&M candies, divided
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175℃). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer (or using a hand mixer), cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  5. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of M&M candies and the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and press it down gently.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining ⅓ cup of M&M candies over the top.
  9. Bake for 22–30 minutes, or until the top is golden, the edges are lightly browned, and the center is just set.
  10. Remove from the oven and place the pan on a cooling rack. Let the bars cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to ensure chewy cookie bars.
  • You can substitute with peanut butter M&M’s or other flavored varieties.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For easier cutting, refrigerate the bars for 30 minutes before slicing.
  • Great for freezing—wrap tightly and store for up to 2 months.
